ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Months after signing an extension that would have kept him with the school through the 2026 season, Georgia Tech offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner has taken the same position at Florida, according to multiple reports.
Faulkner, 44, has been with the school since 2023 and signed a contract extension in July. Nonetheless, he will join first-year Florida coach Jon Sumrall in Gainesville, Florida, for the 2026 season.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel was the first to break the news.
His contract would have been through Jan. 31, 2027, and, per the terms of his agreement, Faulkner will owe Tech 100 percent of his base salary. His base salary was $1,250,000.
