Verna Karasinski has been staying at ShorePointe Health and Rehabilitation Center for one month. In her time there, she hasn’t felt inclined to participate in any of the activities.
On Dec. 2, though, she was being wheeled out of the elevator on the second floor when she saw a large gathering of residents. So, a nurse wheeled her over to the group and she sat in her wheelchair as a mob of third graders marched out of the elevators behind her.
Dressed in their reindeer and holiday-themed garb, the students lined up with the help of their teacher, Chelsey Pratt, and prepared to serenade the residents with their songs.
They sang “Deck the Halls,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and other songs before finishing off the performance with a lively
