Ridley Township police said that a man attempted to burglarize a home in Holmes, but the crime was interrupted by the resident.

Ridley police said detectives are investigating the burglary attempt in the 2500 block of Academy Avenue about 8:15 p.m. Thursday.

The homeowner chased the subject out and they ran south in the 300 block of Lawnton Terrace before the resident lost sight of him. The burglar is described as a tall white male, police said.

Residents along the 2500 block of Academy and 300 block of Lawnton Terrace are asked to check their home cameras for anyone spotted lurking around or running between 7:45 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
