Investigation underway after human remains found in shallow grave in McCracken Co.

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - Detectives are investigating after human remains were found in a shallow grave.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, for the last several months, they have been investigating possible human remains buried on a property on Broyles Avenue.

They say detectives found human remains in a shallow grave on the property on Thursday afternoon, Friday, December 5.

According to the sheriff’s office, the scene is currently being treated as a crime scene. They are waiting for a forensic anthropology team to arrive to excavate the remains.

The cause of death is unknown at this time.

Detectives say there is no threat to the public.
