CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - A ribbon cutting at Century Casino on Friday celebrated the kick off of sports betting in Missouri.

The new BetMGM Sportsbook area features screens to watch several sports alongside a kiosk to place bets, a bar and more.

The vice president of Century Casino said Sportsbook has been drawing quite the crowd already in Missouri’s first week of legal sports gaming.

“It’s a great new environment to come and watch sports and we invite everybody to come down to have this new experience,” Lyle Randolph, vice president/general manager of Century Casino, said. “Anytime we can add an additional amenity that can bring people in, we are the only retail sportsbook between St. Louis and Memphis, so another regional opportunity for people to come and have a new experience.”
