Toronto is known to its residents for traffic delays and congestion — and its making global lists for it, too.
The 2025 Global Traffic Scorecard, released by INRIX, a software company that analyzes traffic data, analyzes transportation data among 942 urban areas worldwide. Using that data, it developed a ranking for traffic around the world.
This year, Toronto ranked 34th for worst traffic congestion , with INRIX reporting that on average, 59 hours per driver are lost to traffic during peak commute periods.
As bad as it seems, this is an improvement from Toronto’s score last year; the congestion is down three per cent from 2024.
Toronto is also not the Canadian city that has it the worst.
