SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Toys for Tots of Manatee County is bringing holiday joy to local children, but the organization is doing that work out of a temporary location, and leaders say a permanent facility would allow them to do much more.

“It would be a game-changer,” Lynette White, coordinator of the Manatee County Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots, said.

White said funds that could be used to buy toys has to go toward storage. “If we had a permanent home, we would be able to do so many other initiatives that we would love to start this year and not just being about Christmas and making it year round for the kids. But it makes it impossible when you don’t have a permanent home,” White said.

White has spent 10 years with Toys for Tots and is in her first year in the organization’s coor
