JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man is facing federal charges after prosecutors accused him of trafficking drugs and forcing multiple people into sex work.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 47-year-old Edward Barnes Jr. is charged with sex trafficking, kidnapping, and drug-related offenses stemming from alleged crimes at his home.

Prosecutors said Barnes "forced or threatened eight people into sex trafficking," targeting victims through coercion and intimidation. Investigators also reported that "drugs like meth and fentanyl were trafficked through his home," linking narcotics activity to the broader case.

If convicted on all charges, Barnes faces a potential sentence ranging from 90 years to life in prison, federal prosecutors said.
