Palm Bay City Councilman Chandler Langevin has secured a preliminary injunction from a judge, restoring his full rights to participate in council meetings after being censured by fellow council members.

The ruling centers on Langevin's First Amendment claims following his censure, which imposed restrictions on his ability to speak during certain parts of meetings and limited his power to add items to the agenda.

A judge ruled that Langevin cannot be restricted from speaking and does not need a consensus from the council to introduce items for consideration on the agenda.

This preliminary injunction effectively halts the enforcement of key punishments levied against the councilman.
