At 1:04 a.m. on Saturday, the National Weather Service issued a special weather statement until 6 a.m. for Morris, Hunterdon and Somerset counties.
“Areas of light precipitation continue to expand over portions of the area early this morning. Most precipitation is in the form of light snow or very fine ice crystals. This may result in hazardous travel conditions at times up through day break. Some freezing fog will also be possible which could further cause slick surfaces in addition to reduced visibilities,” says the weather service.
