GRIFFIN, Ga. — Griffin Police said an altercation involving about 10 people turned into a shooting that left one man dead and another facing a murder charge early Saturday morning.
Officers said they were called to Kevin's Corner, located at 1580 Williamson Zebulon Road, just after midnight on Dec. 6.
According to police, they located a 28-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. Officers provided aid to the man before taking him to the hospital, where he later passed away, police said.
The name of the victim will be released after the family has been notified.
During a preliminary investigation, it was determined that a fight between nearly a dozen individuals led to shots being fired.
They later identified 25-year-old Daulton Statham as the suspected shooter. He was
