AKRON, Ohio — Fire crews in Akron discovered a body Saturday morning while extinguishing a blaze behind a vacant building on South Arlington Street, authorities said.
The Akron Fire Department responded at 9:47 a.m. to reports of a dumpster fire at 1130 S. Arlington St., according to a news release. When firefighters arrived, they found a shed in the parking lot fully engulfed in flames.
Crews quickly put out the fire and then discovered a body inside the structure, officials said. The identity of the person has not been released.
The Fire Investigation Unit and the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office were called to the scene. The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
