Meghan Markle's father has sent an emotional message to his daughter following a life-saving surgery where his left leg was amputated .

Thomas Markle Snr , 81, was rushed to hospital in the Philippines after he fell ill at home, earlier this week. He underwent a three hour operation to remove a blood clot after his foot turned "blue and then black". Meghan's dad is still in hospital while doctors monitor him but he has issued a desperate plea to his estranged daughter, begging to reconcile with her and meet his grandchildren.
