Detectives have released e-fits of a couple they want to question over the brutal unsolved murder of an elderly woman more than 40 years ago.
Esme Hoad, 85, was beaten around the head with a blunt instrument and stabbed in the chest in her own home . The attack happened while Esme was living alone at her house in Havelock Road, Tonbridge, Kent.
Police hope a distinctive shoe mark left at the scene revealing the branding "Banana" could help to solve the case . Esme's body was found by officers on December 8 1982 after neighbours reported she had not been seen for days. Cold case detectives investigating the unsolved
