Heathrow Airport is facing major disruption this morning after armed police and emergency crews were called to an incident at Terminal 3.

The Heathrow Tunnels have been shut and multiple Underground lines suspended, while several areas around the airport have gone into lockdown. Photos shared on social media show the Terminal 3 drop-off point cordoned off and surrounded by police, ambulances and fire engines.

Reports suggest at least two people have been arrested. Witnesses told MyLondon that an individual “sprayed an unknown gas” at the airport, prompting a large-scale emergency response.

Commander Peter Stevens said: “At this stage, we believe the incident involved a group of people known to each other, with an argument escalating and resulting in a number of people being injured.
