Heathrow Airport was thrown into disruption this morning after armed police and emergency crews rushed to Terminal 3 following reports of multiple people being sprayed with a substance believed to be pepper spray.

Officers were called at around 8.11am to the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3, where a group of men are said to have assaulted several people before fleeing. Armed response teams moved in, and one man was arrested on suspicion of assault. Police say they are still searching for further suspects.

The incident triggered a large emergency response, with images shared online showing the Terminal 3 drop-off point sealed off by police, ambulances and fire engines. The Heathrow Tunnels were temporarily shut and some Underground services suspended, causing significant travel disrupt
