A woman has told how a 'charming' man she met on a dating site turned into a 'monster' who tried to drown her in a bathtub.

Mum-of-two Katie Yates, 42, began speaking to then-29-year-old Jason Smith after recieving a message from him on dating website Plenty of Fish.

They soon became romantically involved, and Katie said Smith initially came across as "very charming" - but it merely was persona that hid a cruel, sadistic side.
