LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — Police are searching for a man who escaped Lincoln Correctional Center in Lincolnton .

42-year-old Roy Burgess was serving a one-to-two year sentence for larceny, according to North Carolina Department of Adult Correction.

Burgess is a white male with brown hair, blue eyes and a beard. He's approximately 5'11, 180 pounds. Burgess has tattoos on his neck, arms and hands. The tattoo on his neck is of the letters "BNG."

NCDAC says he may be bleeding from cuts on his body.

Burgess may be with relatives in Dallas or Gastonia.
