MERIDIAN TWP, Mich. (WILX) -On Sunday, community members shopped from local vendors at the 32nd annual Nokomis Holiday Art Market.

The event showcases various Native American items such as art and jewelry.

Eva Menefee, who helped organize the event, spoke on how this event is a great opportunity to learn about Native Americans.

“One of the things that I always tell folks is that, you know, this is December and we’ve just left Native American Heritage Month. I really hope that people remember that Native Americans are here 365 or 66 days a year. We live in our communities, we work in our communities, we provide for our families here,” said Menefee, a Nokomis Center board member.
