Those driving home from festive events will be aware of drink driving fines - but may not be aware of a smaller fee that will have to be paid for something similar.

Drivers could be facing up to £22,500 in fines this Christmas as drink-driving offences continue to surge, with nearly 99 motorists a day caught across Britain over the past three years. Last year alone, 36,415 drivers in England and Wales were convicted for being over the limit or refusing testing.
