A 59-year-old man having a mental health episode was fatally run over in Harrisburg on Saturday after jumping out of a window on the bus in which he was traveling, police said.
The man was on a bus headed from western to eastern Pennsylvania when he pushed open an emergency window and jumped around 4 p.m. on Cameron Street near Market Street, according to Harrisburg police Lt. Kyle Gautsch. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The name of the bus company was not available Monday. The man’s name has not been released by the coroner, but police said he was not a Harrisburg resident. None of the other bus passengers were involved in the incident or injured, Gautsch said.
Cameron Street was shut down Saturday after the crash until around 6:30 p.m.
