SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WFSB) - An investigation is underway following a fatal crash in Southington on Friday night.

Officers were called to the area of Queen Street after a report of a collision involving a pedestrian, according to the police department.

When crews arrived, they found a man suffering from serious injuries in the roadway.

First responders provided life saving efforts, but due to the extent of injuries, the victim had died.

Officials have identified the victim as 70-year-old Ralph Gulla.

Following an investigation, it was revealed that a car that was going southbound on Queen Street hit Gulla when he was trying to cross the street.

Police said the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with law enforcement on this investigation.
