MICHIGAN, USA — Michigan residents have less than a week to purchase Health Insurance Marketplace coverage that begins Jan. 1, 2026, the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services announced.

The deadline to enroll for coverage starting in the new year is Dec. 15, 2025. While open enrollment continues until Jan. 15, 2026, plans selected after Dec. 15 will not take effect until Feb. 1, 2026.

"To ensure that you and your family begin the New Year with high-quality, comprehensive health insurance, enroll in a Marketplace health plan by December 15," said DIFS Director Anita Fox.
