A turn-of-the-century-style tour boat docked on Lake George was heavily damaged by fire early Monday morning.
The Adirondac, a 400-passenger vessel operated by Lake George Waterfront Cruises, caught fire shortly before 7 a.m. while moored at the dock, according to the Times Union . An eyewitness reported the blaze, which was extinguished quickly, though the upper portion of the boat was destroyed and continued to smolder for hours.
The Adirondac was best known for sightseeing cruises, dinner sails and private charters in the Adirondacks . Most recently, it had been hosting the company’s popular Santa Cruises and was scheduled to operate a New Year’s voyage.
Warren County spokesman Don Lehman said no injuries were reported. Fire crews shifted their focus to protecting Lake George
