A woman arrested after a pensioner died having been hit by a car has been released under investigation.
Police were called to Second Street in Watling Bungalows in Leadgate, County Durham just after 7.15am on Friday (December 5).
An 83-year-old woman was hit by a car and suffered significant injuries, Durham Police said previously.
Despite the best efforts of the medics, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman in her 40s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
The force said she has since been released under investigation.
