JACKSON, Miss. — A Jackson-area ministry that helps people transition out of homelessness is asking the community for job opportunities for two of its residents who are ready to reenter the workforce.

In a recent post, Wingard Home said it is seeking employment for a young mother of two who is interested in any type of animal care work. She does not yet have a degree but hopes to become a veterinary assistant once she is more financially stable. The ministry said she could work the front desk at a veterinary clinic, clean cages, tend to animals or work in a pet store.

Wingard Home is also looking for a position for a young man who wants to enter the restaurant and service industry. He has expressed interest in starting in the kitchen doing dishwashing, cleaning and basic food prep so he
