Momo Sushi plans to reopen in Northeast Minneapolis, but it's not clear whether it will return to the same location.
The Japanese and Tibetan restaurant on Central Avenue has been closed since a "devastating fire" broke out overnight in late August. No one was injured, but the damage was extensive.
"The fire left behind severe destruction throughout the kitchen area and main dining space, impacting equipment, walls, and much of the structure we once proudly operated in," the restaurant shared in a Facebook post over the weekend.
Momo Sushi says its landlord "is currently not willing to collaborate on the necessary repairs," so the restaurant isn't sure whether it will be able to rebuild there.
