A person of interest is in custody in Buffalo, New York, for allegedly shooting Jets player Kris Boyd in Midtown last month.

The 20-year-old man surrendered himself to law enforcement on Monday morning, sources said.

No charges were immediately filed. He will return to New York City to face charges, likely in the coming days.

Boyd was shot in the abdomen on Nov. 16, and the bullet traveled to his lung and lodged in the pulmonary artery, police said. He underwent multiple medical procedures, posting Nov. 19 that he was "starting to breathe on my own. "

Last week, Boyd surprised teammates by showing up at the team facility.
