THE BRONX, N.Y. — Makhiye Washington poured in a season-high 22 points and Curtis broke open a close game with a huge third quarter to capture its first win via a 60-44 non-league decision over host Cardinal Spellman Sunday at the NYC Invitational.

Jayden Faulkner (10 points), Wilmer Santos (nine points) and Curtis Tiu (nine points) also contributed offensively for the Warriors, who improved to 1-4.

Washington’s 11 first-half points helped give the Warriors a 25-24 lead at intermission, but the St. George school grabbed complete control immediately after halftime, exploding for 22 third-quarter points.
