Drone drops crab legs, steak and Old Bay inside South Carolina prison

BISHOPVILLE, S.C. — The South Carolina Department of Corrections said contraband was dropped by a drone at Lee Correctional Institution in what the agency described as an apparent attempt to deliver drugs and other items inside the prison.

In a post on social media, SCDC said, “Seems some folks were planning an early holiday Old Bay crab boil and steak dinner along with their marijuana and cigarettes — all dropped by a drone at Lee CI.”

No further details about arrests, confiscated items, or whether the contraband reached any inmates were released.
