Members of the Indiana National Guard have arrived in Washington D.C.
They are there to help assist federal and local authorities.
Officials said the state sent 300 members to the nation's capital.
Some of their work will involve community safety patrols.
Officials said they have been training since November.
Indiana Gov. Mike Braun authorized the deployment.
The Indiana National Guard said the mission is expected to last four months or less.
