NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Metro Nashville Police Department is investigating a deadly crash involving a tractor-trailer on the Silliman Evans Bridge early Tuesday morning
According to officers at the scene, for unknown reasons, the driver of a semi crashed while traveling east on I-24 over the Cumberland River just after midnight.
The Nashville Fire Department and emergency personnel responded and made contact with the driver, who was temporarily trapped inside, according to MNPD.
Nashville Fire Department crews successfully pulled the driver from the cab, and he was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was reportedly declared deceased upon arrival.
