COCOA, Fla. (WWSB) - A twin-engine aircraft hit a car on I-95 in Brevard County Monday evening as it tried to make an emergency landing on the interstate, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The plane, a Beechcraft Baron, attempted the landing around 6 p.m. on I-95 near King Street in Cocoa.
Despite heavily damaging a Toyota Camry, the driver of the car suffered only minor injuries. The pilot and passenger were not injured.
The highway was closed for a time while crews removed the wreckage.
The aircraft is registered to Tailwinds Flying LLC, in Merritt Island, according to Federal Aviation Administration records.
The reason for the emergency landing has not been released.
