NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A man was kicked off a WeGo bus and arrested after police said he drunkenly deployed pepper spray during a ride in Nashville on Monday.

According to an arrest affidavit from the Metro Nashville Police Department, officers were dispatched to the corner of Union Street and 2nd Avenue North for reports of a drunken man on a WeGo bus.

The officers arrived and found 69-year-old Vanell Cain, who told them he deployed pepper spray against another passenger. The chemical reportedly affected all the patrons on the bus, including the bus driver, according to the affidavit.

The bus driver required treatment for his eyes from medical personnel and was unable to continue driving on Monday, the affidavit states.
