The Los Angeles Clippers entered the season with playoff hopes and a veteran core built to compete now. Instead, the early weeks have brought losses, injuries, and growing doubt. Clippers rumors are swirling, with rising tension sparking fears of a full breakup and James Harden and Chris Paul on the trade watch.
On December 9, ESPN insider Shams Charania shared comments from a high-ranking NBA executive about the 6–18 Clippers. The executive questioned why the team keeps chasing wins instead of making trades to protect its long-term future and rebuild.
“Instead of trying to win every game to prevent Oklahoma City from receiving a top-five pick, could the Clippers make a trade or trades to better position themselves for the next five years,” the executive said via Shams Charania.
