A winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 1:20 p.m. valid for Wednesday between 4 a.m. and 7 p.m. for Northern Wayne and Southern Wayne as well as Bradford, Susquehanna, Wyoming, Lackawanna, Luzerne and Pike counties.

"Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations around a light glaze. Localized snow accumulations up to 5 inches possible across the highest elevations above 1900 feet," adds the weather service. "A period of steady snow arrives early Wednesday morning and continues through the day. Brief periods of rain or freezing rain could mix in a times Wednesday afternoon or early evening, before changing back to all snow showers late Wednesday evening."
