DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A winter tradition in the state of Minnesota has returned, and community help is needed.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is now collecting creative snowplow names for its annual contest .

It is the sixth year of the Name a Snowplow contest .

Past winners include names like Plowy McPlowface and Don’tcha Snow.

MnDOT encourages Minnesotans to submit witty, unique, or themed snowplow names.

Submissions are accepted through Friday, December 19.

The MnDOT asks that entries follow these rules:

Each person may only submit one name.

Submissions are limited to no more than 30 characters (including letters and spaces).
