A registered sex offender in Brookeland was jailed on Tuesday morning.

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department report said that 66-year-old William Lawrence Kelly had failed to comply with sex offender registration requirements.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety Sex Offender Database, Kelly was convicted in 2003 for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.
