APPANOOSE COUNTY, Iowa ( KCRG /Gray News) - An Iowa school district won’t have classes Tuesday or Wednesday due to a reported flu outbreak.
The Moulton-Udell School District in Appanoose County said about 30% of students and staff are out sick, mostly with the flu, a school official shared.
According to the district, it will be using the next two days to fully sanitize its facilities, while it’s also cancelling all athletics events scheduled for Tuesday night.
Iowa HHS provided the following tips to stay healthy through respiratory virus season:
Avoid social gatherings if you are sick.
Disinfect high-touch surfaces frequently.
Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue, or with your shirt sleeve if a tissue is not availab
