PINE ISLAND, Minn.- The City of Pine Island's Planning and Zoning Commission will be meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9 to go over a request from Ryan Companies to rezone 482 acres from agricultural to industrial.

Peter Fitzgerald, Vice President of Real Estate for Ryan Companies, says the city has already been preparing to have the property used for industrial reasons.

Fitzgerald says the change in zoning would just make it official and allow the company to move forward with its plans for an industrial park and data center.

Currently Ryan Companies only has one tenant secured for the site, which will be a Fortune 100 company that wants to build a data center and an office space.

Fitzgerald says the next steps in that process will be the Planning and Zoning Commission's recommendatio
