HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Kobayashi Group has been chosen to build a new transit-oriented project in Leeward Oahu.

The site sits on nearly 14 acres of land between Wākea Street and Kamokila Boulevard in Kapolei.

It’s very early in the project, but the city says preliminary analysis shows this area can support about 750 affordable rental units.

“I think that’s a minimum we’re going for, but this again is just one more project. We have multiple projects in the works right now. We’ll be making more announcements. This is what we said we needed to do as a city,” Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi said.

Building on previous success

This project builds on the success of Parkway Village at Kapolei, also built by Kobayashi Group.
