(KFVS) - Another cold front arriving today will plunge temperatures below freezing in some areas by nightfall.
Expect strong winds out of the northwest today.
Winds could gust up to 30 to 40 miles per hour at times.
High temperatures will be in the upper 40s, but will drop as a cold front arrives this afternoon.
There is a very isolated chance for some rain and flurries as the front moves through the Heartland.
Tonight will be cold, but less breezy, in the low 30s.
Thursday and Friday are looking calmer and chilly with highs in the 40s under partly cloudy skies.
A few isolated snow showers are possible for parts of southern Illinois on Thursday night, but no travel impacts are expected at this time.
The weekend is looking very cold with the arrival of a big push of arctic air.
