An expert has shared some tips to help UK households avoid being ill this Christmas . vital advice while the K strain continues to spread.

A warning has been issued by the NHS over a "tidal wave" of flu infections, which have ultimately led to some school closing down and calls for masks to return in hospitals.

The reason for this disruption is the new “subclade K” strain of flu. This virus has mutated into a form of the influenza A H3N2 virus that has undergone a "genetic drift" over the summer and is leading to a hike of cases in the UK.
