SCOTLAND'S first confidential helpline for women experiencing economic abuse has been launched.

The Purple Phone Helpline is for victims and survivors of economic abuse, providing them with advice and helping them to recover.

Pioneered by charity Financially Included, the service is part of a new economic abuse pilot project supported by Scottish Government funding, providing guidance and emotional support on topics such as safe bank accounts, access to benefits and coerced debt – where someone has been forced to take on debt by an abusive partner.
