Parts of the Black Country have been named among Britain's worst places for average life expectancy - with boys born in recent years expected to die seven years younger than those in the affluent south.
Sandwell had the lowest average life expectancy for men in the Midlands, at 76.7 years - way behind the 83.7 enjoyed by the residents of the district of Hart in Hampshire.
For women, Wolverhampton was named lowest in the West Midlands with 81.2 years. But in contrast, females in London's Kensington and Chelsea lived for an average of 87.1 years.
