A teacher at a northwest Edmonton school has been charged with multiple sexual offences involving his student for an alleged online sexually explicit “relationship” that lasted two years.

Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) says the charges against the 32-year-old teacher at Hilwie Hamdon School are entirely related to alleged online offences.

The teacher was arrested Friday by ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit and the Edmonton Police Service. The ICE investigation began earlier that week.

Authorities do not know if other students were impacted.

Dylan Rosychuk was charged with child luring, making sexually explicit materials available to a child, and making, possessing, and transmitting child sexual abuse materials.
