The Dallas Mavericks announced some difficult news today as center Dereck Lively II exits the 2025-26 NBA season with a foot injury. Shams Charania of ESPN reports that Lively is experiencing lingering discomfort from his foot but is expected to make a full recovery.
Lively has appeared in 7 games for the Mavericks this year, averaging 4.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in 16.4 minutes. He appeared in 36 games last year after a rookie campaign in which he started 42 of 55 games and helped take the Mavericks to the 2024 NBA Finals.
Dallas currently holds a 9-16 record.
