ROSEBURG, Ore. - A disturbing case of animal abuse has emerged in Douglas County, where a man is accused of killing a four-month-old puppy, according to the Roseburg Police Department.

Authorities have arrested 21-year-old Derek Lewis Moss of Roseburg after a friend recorded a FaceTime call in which Moss allegedly showed off the act. Moss faces two counts of first-degree aggravated animal abuse and one count of first-degree animal abuse. During the call, Moss reportedly told his friend that he killed the puppy because it was snoring. Blood was visible on Moss's face, clothing, and the floor.

Moss's girlfriend informed police that he had been abusing the animal and had become increasingly aggressive toward the dog in the past week. Douglas County Jail records show that Moss is in custody
