ROCKFORD, Ill. — A local man has been found guilty after being accused of setting fire to a neighbor's house.
Winnebago County State's Attorney J. Hanley announced that on Wednesday, 32-year-old Amin Naz of Rockford was found guilty of aggravated arson.
On April 1, 2024, Rockford Fire Investigators were called to a home in the 1200 block of 4th Avenue after a fire was reported.
One of the homeowners, who was inside when the fire started, was brought to a local hospital with serious injuries. They were then transferred to a hospital in Madison.
Two dogs were also inside at the time, and one died from the fire.
Investigators later found out the fire was set on purpose.
