A northwest suburban gas station canopy collapsed amid the most recent round of snow this week, officials said.

The Marathon gas station at 8 E. Main St. in Cary collapsed Sunday, just as the latest round of accumulating snow hit the Chicago area in what has been a nearly historic start to winter .

Village Administrator Erik Morimoto said no injuries were reported in the collapse and all fuel dispensing systems were shut off immediately and will remain shut off until demolition is complete. The convenience store remains open while repairs are being coordinated, Morimoto said.
